About Me
Kevin Jing Qiu [resume]
Born in the booming city of Shanghai, PRC in the 80s, Kevin got his first personal computer when he was 8, watching his dad tinkering with Apple II Basic late at night. Kevin fell in love with computer programming in the 90s, and pursued his dream of becoming a software engineer, which lead him to North America.
Graduated with distinction from University of Toronto Computer Science program, Kevin has been working in the industry since 2008. Now he lives in Vaughan, ON with his wife and 2 children.
His favourite programming language is Python, while he admires the beauty of Clojure and other functional programming languages.
He’s also proficient at Go, Ruby and JavaScript (the ES6 kind).
Lately, he has been more involved on the infrastructure side of software, using heavily docker, ansible, kubernetes, terraform and so on.
He’s an avid vimmer and tmuxer and believes 工欲善其事,必先利其器 (To do a good job, an artisan needs the best tools).
Outside of computers, he also like world history, geography, travelling and play piano for fun.
